39 degrees last night. Up at 6:30, hiking by 7:50.
Fairly easy ascent to Avalanche Pass at 10k feet. The actual pass was more of a saddle, with no real views to speak of.
Then descent all the way down to Roaring River. I met a hiker who claimed to be doing the JMT. Seems really off track to me but he didn't ask for any help so good luck!!
Hike down to Roaring River had amazing views! There is a Ranger Station in the area but I didn't stop to chat.
The hike along Cloud Canyon was easy. So I kept hiking longer than planned. I ended up making camp at Cement Table Meadow.
High was 83 today, so a bit warm. I took a 'bear can bath'!! Hike light philosophy... everthing that can have dual use, does!
Packit Gourmet Chili for dinner. Was good, but I am a bit nauseous so not much appetite.
Not sure what I will do tomorrow as far as miles or camp site. Maybe stop at Galats Lake?
It's funny, I plan these hikes down to every mile before heading out. Then I let the trail and how I feel guide me and the plan is swept aside.
